Rhodes Island offers the best beaches in the Mediterranean. Most of the beaches in Rhodes Island have been awarded the European Union blue flag, an environmental award for clean, crystal clear waters, which are world famous. Most of the beaches are sandy and organized with umbrellas, sun beds, water sports, cafés and tavernas. The best beaches are located at the east coast of Rhodes Island in small coves and bays. Rhodes Island offers both cosmopolitan beaches as well as secluded quiet sandy beaches.


Tsambika Beach Rhodes

TSAMBIKA BEACH

Tsambika is one of the most beautiful beaches in Rhodes. It is situated on the eastern coast of the island, about 26km south of Rhodes town.

The 800 metres long and very wide beach has fine golden sand and only a few pebbles. The turquoise water is shallow and crystal clear.

Facilities at the beach include sun beds, umbrellas, several restaurants and a mini-market.

Plenty of space for playing and shallow water make Tsambika beach very suitable for children of all ages.

St. Paul's Bay Rhodes

St. PAUL's BAY

St Paul's Bay is a very picturesque bay just next to the city of Lindos. It is claimed that St Paul landed here in the year 51 AD to preach Christianity to the Rhodians. There is a small church built there after his name.

There are two beaches in the bay. The large beach in the southern end is with golden sand. The smaller beach at the northern end of the bay is a mix of sand and gravel.

Facilities at both beaches include sun loungers, sun shades, toilets and a coffee shops.

The beaches in St Pauls Bay are relatively uncrowded and very relaxed.
The bay is a great place for snorkelling and diving. No other water sports.

Anthony Quinn Bay Rhodes

Natural stone surfaces ideal for reclining under the sun, pine trees reaching down to the water's edge, emerald green water - Anthony Quinn certainly showed impeccable taste when he fell in love with its miniature bay. The beach is known today by the actor's name since he bought this part of the island when filming "The Guns of Navarone" here.

Services at the beach include sun beds, umbrellas and a restaurant.

The picturesque beach is very popular and tends to get crowded in the summer months, especially in July and August.

Ladiko Beach Rhodes

Ladiko beach is situated on the east coast of Rhodes, about 15 kilometres south of Rhodes

The picturesque Ladiko beach is situated in a beautiful bay, which is surrounded by hills. The quite small beach has fine sand with small rocks scattered all around. The water is clean and clear, with a gently slope into the sea.

The beach is a popular choice among locals and holidaymakers, so it tends to get very crowded in July and August.

Ladiko beach is not the best choice for small children due to the small rocks scattered all around the beach. On the positive side, the beach has a gentle slope into the sea.

Kalithea Rhodes

Kalithea Springs is a spa, which dates all the way back to the classical Antiquity, but the current facilities were built by the Italians in 1929. After a thorough renovation, the beautiful facilities reopened as a museum with an adjoining beach in the summer of 2007.

The beach in Kalithea Springs is fairly small, but it is peaceful and the surroundings are very beautiful.

It is a mixture of sand, gravel and pebbles. The water is shallow and usually completely calm.

Elli beach is located at the northern tip of Rhodes and just 15min walking from the cruise port.

Elli is the main beach in Rhodes town and one of the most popular beaches on the entire island.

The shingle and pebbly beach is about 400 metres long and 35 metres wide, running from Mandraki harbour to Rhodes Aquarium. The water is crystal clear and usually calm.

Elli beach offers you all the amenities needed to enjoy a perfect day in the sun. It is organized with sun loungers, colourful umbrellas, water sports and very comfortable lounge bars.
