The Acropolis of Lindos was built on a steep rock 116 meters height overlooking the blue Sea and the Lindos city below. The Acropolis is dominated by the massive temple of Athena Lindia, dating from the 4th century and it attained its final form in around 300 BC.

The Colossus of Rhodes was a giant statue of Helios (god of sun). The statue was designed by Chares from Lindos and it took 12 year to be build. It was completed in 282 BC. The Colossus was 32 metres tall and the entrance to the harbor was approximately 400 meters wide.
